The April 13th program was cancelled, but we are posting here, for your enjoyment, performances of the musicians who would have performed that evening.

Pianist Alejandro Guillen was born in Caracas Venezuela and came to the U.S. in 2016. In 2019 he was one of the recipients of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Scholarship. He is also an active composer of solo instrumental and chamber ensemble music, and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at the John J. Cali School of Music MSU. The composer, Carlos Nunez, is a Venezuelan musician, composer, conductor, pianist and arranger, considered one of the most important composers of Venezuela and Latin America in the field of contemporary classical music and 20th century classical music. We look forward to hearing Alejandro in the upcoming season.

Ellen Ivansson, as of the fall of 2018, was enrolled at Montclair State University as an Artist Diploma student. In addition to her studies, she has a successful freelance career, and has played with some of the greatest orchestras in Sweden, such as The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, The Swedish Chamber Orchestra, The Nordic Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Swedish Army Band. Here she plays Monologue No. 3 by Erland von Koch.

Beatrice Long posted this performance recently on her FB page to honor doctors and healthcare workers who are working tirelessly during the pandemic. This is a video of a performance from almost 20 years ago, with an orchestra which was formerly called ‘Physicians Orchestra’. It is a performance of musicians/doctors joining the Taiwan Cancer Foundation to celebrate life. In addition to her private studio, Beatrice teaches at the Music Conservatory of Brooklyn College CUNY, as well as in the InterHarmony Music Festival in Italy and Germany. We hope she will be able to perform for us in the coming year.
